Do you know how many giants there are in Lleida and what they are called? Where does the name Mare de Déu del Blau (Our Lady of the Blue) come from? Have you ever taken part in the city’s bed race? You will discover all this and much more in this book, designed to help children and young people (and the not-so-young) learn about key aspects of the history and folk culture of Lleida—and grow to love the city even more.

Following the annual cycle, we will start with the Three wise Kings and end with legends to tell on dark winter nights; along the way, we will experience Carnival, processions, flower carpets, aplecs (gatherings), dances, and correfocs (fire runs), and take Lo Marraco and the Marraquets out for a stroll.
